KT&G Sangsang Madang in Hongdae, holds La Belle France, the private exhibition of a French photographer Jacques Henri Lartigue for the first time in Seoul to commemorate its 10th anniversary since opening. On April 18, the first day of the exhibition, Fabien Penone, French ambassador and Anthony Chaumuzeau, chairperson of French Cultural Center, graced the occasion with their presence.
The exhibition is a part of 20th century maestro invitation project of KT&G Sangsang Madang following Robert Doisneau in 2014, Raymond Savignac in 2015 and Jean-Jacques Sempé on 2016. Four exhibitions of French artists was meaningful to the relationship of KT&G Sangsang Madang and France.
Fabien Penone, French ambassador and Anthony Chaumuzeau, chairperson of French Cultural Center had an earnest and serious discussion with related persons of KT&G Sangsang Madang for cultural exchange. Sang-hak Lee, head of KT&G Sustainable Management Division said, “I hope the French embassy and KT&G Sangsang Madang will actively cooperate for the cultural and art exchange.”
La Belle France is composed of liberal and sensible 200 photos of Jacques Henri Lartigue including the beautiful scenery of 20th century France, upper class French people, and lazy day of attractive ladies. His photos receive applause from spectators and press for taking liberal shooting of daily themes, especially for a breakaway from a stereo-typed style.
The photo exhibition will be held at KT&G Sangsang Madang Hongdae gallery until August 15.
