583 KT&G Welfare Foundation Participates in Ecological Recovery Activities in Mt. Bukhan 2016.04.11

▶KT&G Welfare Foundation and 220 volunteers participate in ‘Planting 700 native trees in MT. Bukhan’ for ecological recovery in a natural park in urban area on April 9th.


KT&G Welfare Foundation conducted ‘2016 Mt. Bukhan National Park Ecological Recovery Volunteer Activities’ with 220 college students at Suyu District of Mt. Bukhan on April 9th.


The participants of the activities removed vines around national eco trails and planted 700 native trees including wild pear tree, wild cherry tree and pine tree on byways made by hikers and illegal arable lands where the environment has been damaged.


A person concerned in KT&G Welfare Foundation said, “KT&G Welfare Foundation has developed the restoration of ecological system for the parks in urban area such as Mt. Bukhan as a way of social responsibility activity. And KT&G will continue to protect the ecological environment around us.”


KT&G Welfare Foundation planted total 38,000 trees between 2006 and 2012 to recover Naksansa forest destroyed by fire. The foundation started to conduct Mt. Bukhan ecological recovery activities with the purpose of ‘Conservation of Natural Parks in Urban Area’ from 2013.
