On March 22 at COEX, Samsung-dong in Seoul, KT&G (president Bok-in Baek) received the highest award, “HRD Grand Prize” at 2016 Korea HRD (Human Resource Development) Award Ceremony.

The “Korea HRD Award Ceremony”, hosted by Korea HRD Association since 1995, was introduced in order to discover good human resource development cases and create excellent education programs. This prize is the most renowned prize in the sector. It is awarded to companies, educational institutions, public institutions, and HRD instructors that has contributed to the development and expansion of HRD.

KT&G has supported its employees’ career development and ability strengthening by offering systematic education programs for new employees and top management as well. KT&G has thus promoted the importance of human resource development and its value spread, as human-centered management is KT&G’s top, core value. And the company was therefore selected as the winner of the prize.

In Daejun, Suanbo, Gangwha, and Kyung-Ju, KT&G is operating four education centers that can host more than 26 thousand people a year. Each center has up-to-date training infrastructure asides from education facilities, so that the employees could learn independently in the optimal environment.
