Until August 24, KT&G is inviting musicians to participate in “Band Discovery” which discovers and supports rookie musicians.

‘Band Discovery’ has discovered and supported unknown talents sponsored by KT&G for culture and art development purpose since 2013.

Anyone who has not released regular albums or put out their first album may apply. Applications will be complete by introducing the band and registering videos or music files on the website (sangsang.ktng.com).
 
Six bands will be selected through the first screening process by professional musicians and internet voting. The final three bands will be selected through a competition concert.

Shortlisted three teams will be awarded KRW 11 million. One-time lease coupon of the Sangsang Madang live hall and one-week coupon for live studio recording will be also given. In addition, those teams will be provided the opportunity to perform at “Sangsang Realization Festival” to be held in Chuncheon city on October 24th.

A KT&G official said, “‘Band Discovery has drawn attention and participation from new music bands by providing opportunities for them to communicate with the public. KT&G will continuously discover and support new artists via various culture and art programs.

Musicians from ‘Band Discovery’ program are performing actively. All the concert tickets of the Grand Prize winner of 2013 program, ‘Sson Apple’ with delicate lyrics and sensuous sound, were sold out until today. ‘MAAN’, the winner of 2014 program, is getting popular showing off their live singing skills.
