KT&G said it will offer free movies every Wednesday, ‘Three-way Intersection Wednesdays Theatre’, at its Sangsangmadang building in Chuncheon, Gangwon, starting March 4, as part of its culture program.

The company said the free movie program will provide an opportunity for Chuncheon residents to enjoy culture and arts by providing movies of a variety genre. To encourage people with hearing difficulties to attend, ‘barrier-free movies’ where Korean subtitles and sign language will also appear on the screen will be prepared on last Wednesdays of each month.

As a test run of the program, the first movie the company plans to show is “My Love, Don’t Cross that River.” It will be shown on coming Wednesday. Details about the movie will provided at the KT&G Sangsang Madang Chuncheon website at chuncheon.sangsangmadang.com.

“Through the free movie program we plan to show a wide range of movies of different genres including independent films, art films and musicals. We will continuously deliver a variety of programs for the culture and art development of local community,” said a KT&G official.

Other than the Chuncheon’s Sangsangmadang, KT&G runs two more in Hongdae, Seoul, and Nonsan, South Chungcheong. Sangsangmadang provides support to non-mainstream or new artists and wide-range cultural experience to the public.
