559 KT&G Welfare Foundation Donates School Uniforms for New Students from Low-income Gro 2014.02.05

KT&G welfare foundation will donate school uniforms to 800 new middle school and high school students from low-income group, equivalent to 200 million won. 


This project was planned for alleviating economic burdens of near-poor class and single parent families for purchasing their children’s school uniforms in new semester and making those student concentrate their studies without feeling alienated.


The subjects were finally selected among new students from low-income families nominated by KT&G welfare foundation’s local centers and KT&G local branches by considering their economic situations, and so on. They will be given school uniform coupon equivalent to 250,000won per person.


A person concerned in KT&G welfare foundation said “The project started in 2011 and its accumulated beneficiaries are now over 2,200. We’ll continue to find various projects to provide dreams and hopes our neighbors in trouble, in addition to this one.” 


KT&G welfare foundation has run 8 ‘Happiness Network Welfare Centers” providing local closely adhesive and customized services since 2004 and offers careful and professional social welfare services such as supporting small automobile for social welfare institutions and sharing events of pickling vegetables to the poor people.
