KT&G is going to hold the ‘Kim Duk-su and Electric Samulnori’ concert in KT&G Sangsangmadang in Hongdae, Seoul on February 14, and February 21, respectively.
 
 ‘Electric Samulnori’ is a crossover band of samulnori and band form by Kim Duk-su, the icon of Korean samulnori and produces powerful and explosive sounds loved and enjoyed by young generation, keeping traditional Korean music.

 The performance will consist of intensive match between samulnori instruments, jangu, jing, Korean drum, and gong and western instruments, keyboards, base and guitar. KT&G’s director of social contribution, Mr. Lee Eung-chool, said “KT&G planned the performance in order to invigorate traditional Korean music for ‘inheriting and developing traditional culture’, one of our social contribution projects.” And “We will strive to popularize traditional Korean music through various ways.”

KT&G has run ‘KT&G Sangsangmadang’, cultural complex since 2007, finding young artists with continuous supports for minority culture and art and providing broad chances of enjoying cultures to the public in order to popularize minority culture and art.
