KT&G ’s Reorganization: Expansion of Compliance, Social Responsibility and Global Business
KT&G(CEO: Bok-in Baek) carried out a reorganization for more focus on ‘compliance and social responsibility’ and enhancement of ‘global business’ on January 15.
The company aims to become a national company making a contribution to the national economy by tightening compliance and social responsibility, and pioneering a new global market.
Existing Compliance Team expands to become Compliance & Audit Group which directly reports to Audit Committee to ensure the independence and professionalism and also enhance internal auditing function.
Social Responsibility Team expands to Social Responsibility Division consisted of Social Responsibility team and Culture Contribution team to support with enhanced system and internal stability. The division will actively support to create jobs for young people and provide international aid for underdeveloped countries.
Global business organization strengthens. Newly created Overseas Corporation Business Team within Global Division CIC (Company In Company) supports KT&G’s overseas corporations including corporations in Russia and the United States. Sales, Marketing, Management and Production teams will also contribute to the global marketing competitiveness.
Exiting 9 divisions of domestic tobacco business including strategy planning, marketing, and manufacture are integrated into General Affairs Division to enhance business efficiency.
