Biodiversity Protection and Forest Conservation Policy
KT&G recognizes the importance of biodiversity value and sustainable use for humanity's sustainable development. We have established a biodiversity protection policy to actualize sustainable relationships between business operations and ecosystems. Furthermore, KT&G will strive to prevent biodiversity-related losses (No Net Loss) and achieve Net Positive Impact across our business sites and value chain by 2050.

Natural Monument Restoration
In partnership with the National Institute of Ecology’s Research Center for Endangered Species, KT&G implemented a restoration project to support the conservation of the black stork. The black stork—designated as Natural Monument No. 200, Class I Endangered Wildlife—had disappeared from its former habitat in the Gyeongbuk region. To restore this species, six birds were introduced from abroad, and initiatives for domestic breeding and population recovery are currently in progress.
