KT&G SangSang Startup Camp Cohort 10 Participates in Korea Social Value Festa
Dedicated booth provides a platform for young entrepreneurs to network and create social value
10 teams from the 10th cohort of KT&G’s SangSang Startup Camp, an entrepreneurship development program run by KT&G (CEO Bang Kyung-man), took part in the 3rd Korea Social Value Festa, held at COEX in Seoul for two days starting September 21.
Hosted by the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Korea Social Value Festa brings together companies, investors, and experts to share insights into addressing social issues and discuss ways to collaborate on creating social value. This year marked the event’s third edition.
KT&G operated a dedicated booth under the theme “Questions That Young Entrepreneurs from SangSang Startup Camp Cohort 10 Pose to the World,” supporting the entrepreneurs in promoting their businesses and building networks. The 10th cohort introduced their products and services to the general public and startup ecosystem stakeholders, and took part in a variety of networking opportunities.
Shim Young-ah, Director of KT&G ESG Management Division, stated, “We hope the event provided young entrepreneurs with a chance to showcase their businesses and open up new paths for growth. We will continue supporting early-stage startups so that they can achieve sustainable growth and create social value.”
KT&G SangSang Startup Camp was launched in 2017 to identify and foster young entrepreneurs working in social innovation. Through the end of last year, the program had completed nine cohorts and supported 182 teams. Participating teams have generated KRW 31.4 billion in cumulative sales and secured KRW 13.1 billion in cumulative investment. In recognition of these achievements, KT&G received the Presidential Commendation for Contributions to the Social Economy in 2021 and the Presidential Commendation for Contributions to Job Creation in 2022.
