The KT&G Welfare Foundation held the “2026 Vehicle Donation Ceremony for Social Welfare Organizations” at Gangdong Eoullim Welfare Center on September 2 and donated 150 compact cars to relevant organizations nationwide. Since 2004, the foundation has provided highly mobile compact cars to aid the fieldwork of social welfare organizations across the country. Including this year’s donation, the foundation has provided a cumulative total of 2,605 vehicles to date. The foundation is also expanding the distribution of eco-friendly vehicles by providing 50 electric vehicles to welfare centers equipped with electric vehicle charging facilities. Through these efforts, it is taking the lead in protecting the environment and reducing energy consumption. The donated vehicles will help ensure that residents in densely populated areas, including narrow alleyways inaccessible to standard vehicles, can receive welfare services without disruption. A KT&G Welfare Foundation official stated, “We are committed to supporting the mobility needs of those working in the field and contributing to welfare and support activities in local communities. We will continue to do our utmost to ensure that neighbors in need receive practical benefits and support.” The KT&G Welfare Foundation is a social welfare corporation established by KT&G in 2003 to engage with local communities and fulfill its social responsibility. Through its eight welfare centers, the foundation provides community-based welfare services, including support for low-income and underprivileged groups and vehicle donations to social welfare facilities.
