KT&G Recruits for the 10th Cohort of Youth Startup Support Program “SangSang Startup Camp”
Supporting aspiring young entrepreneurs for 10 years since 2017 to foster 182 youth startup teams up to date
KT&G (CEO Bang Kyung-man) is accepting applications until May 28 for the 10th cohort of its “SangSang Startup Camp,” a support program for young entrepreneurs.
Now marking its 10th year, the “SangSang Startup Camp” is a program designed to foster and support young startup entrepreneurs. It was created to provide practical assistance to young people aspiring to become social innovation entrepreneurs through mentoring by startup experts.
This recruitment is targeted at early-stage startups founded by young entrepreneurs within the past five years. KT&G plans to discover and foster a total of ten youth startup teams. Selected teams will receive approximately four months of expert mentoring and competency-building training designed to support systematic growth. Applications can be submitted through the KT&G SangSang Planet website (https://www.sangsangplanet.com).
Selected teams will receive full support for all training expenses, along with the opportunity to move into KT&G SangSang Planet, a startup support space for young entrepreneurs located in Seongsu-dong, Seoul. In particular, to celebrate the program’s 10th anniversary, KT&G plans to strengthen follow-up support to sharpen the selectees’ competitive edge, including creating an investment fund through separate donations and offering investment-attracting opportunities.
Shim Young-ah, Director of KT&G ESG Management Division, stated, “SangSang Startup Camp has supported the growth and development of young entrepreneurs through programs tailored to their needs. We will continue supporting early-stage startups so they can establish themselves in a stable environment.”
Since its launch in 2017, SangSang Startup Camp has completed nine cohorts, producing a total of 182 startup teams. The program has recorded cumulative sales of KRW 31.4 billion and cumulative investment attraction of KRW 13.1 billion. In recognition of these achievements, KT&G received the Presidential Commendation for Job Creation in 2022 and the Presidential Commendation for Social Economy Merit in 2021.
