KT&G (CEO Bang Kyung-man) SangSang Madang is accepting applications through May 12 for the “KT&G Daechi Artist Fellowship (DAF),” an exhibition support program hosted by KT&G Daechi Gallery.
Since 2021, KT&G SangSang Madang has operated the annual “KT&G DAF” program at KT&G Daechi Gallery, providing emerging artists with financial support, exhibition opportunities, and promotional assistance.
This year’s open call welcomes submissions across all areas of visual art without genre restrictions, aiming to introduce a wider range of contemporary art styles and formats to the public in a more accessible and familiar way. Eligibility is open to individuals or teams with experience participating in at least one group exhibition.
One final team will be selected through a review process scheduled for June, based on criteria including artistic merit, suitability for the exhibition space, public appeal, and growth potential. The selected team will hold a two-month exhibition at KT&G Daechi Gallery beginning in July and will receive support valued at approximately KRW 10 million, including exhibition space, artist fees, promotional material production, artwork transportation, and installation services.
Kim Jeong-yun, Exhibition Project Manager of KT&G’s Cultural Contribution Department, stated, “We hope this program will provide emerging artists with meaningful opportunities to present their work in an actual exhibition setting, and connect with the public through their art,” adding, “KT&G will continue to support promising domestic artists to create a stable environment for their creative activities through exhibition space and promotional support.”
KT&G SangSang Madang serves as a multifaceted cultural and artistic space, supporting the creative activities of emerging artists while offering diverse cultural experiences to the public. Since starting with the online SangSang Madang in 2005, the platform has expanded to five locations, including Hongdae, Nonsan, Chuncheon, Daechi, and Busan, contributing to the development of local arts and culture as well as the broadening of artistic and cultural engagement. KT&G SangSang Madang hosts over 3,000 cultural and artistic programs every year.
