KT&G SangSang Madang Announces Final Selection for “SangSang Stage Challenge”
SangSang Madang Daechi Art Hall to provide support, including production costs and performance venue,
with the main performance scheduled for August next year
KT&G SangSang Madang has announced Night Fish , as the final winning piece of its creative musical support initiative, the SangSang Stage Challenge.
The SangSang Stage Challenge is a cultural contribution program launched by KT&G SangSang Madang in 2017 to discover and support outstanding domestic creative musicals. Through this initiative, SangSang Madang has introduced numerous successful works to the public, including The Fiction , Mary Shelley , and Dear My Laika .
This year’s competition received a total of 35 submissions, with the final selection made through a two-stage process consisting of document screening and interviews. The winning piece addresses the theme of the climate crisis and takes the form of a one-person musical incorporating dynamic stage effects.
The winning selection Night Fish will receive KRW 10 million in production funding, as well as support for a performance venue and stage equipment from KT&G. The musical is scheduled to run for approximately two months starting in August 2026 at the KT&G SangSang Madang Daechi Art Hall.

We will continue to serve as a bridge that connects exceptional works with audiences and contribute to the growth and vitality of Korea’s performing arts culture.”
Celebrating its 20th anniversary, KT&G SangSang Madang has grown into one of Korea’s leading multi-cultural spaces that support creative activities and connect the public with art. The facility attracts around 3.2 million visitors annually. Since its launch as an online community in 2005, SangSang Madang has expanded into five offline multi-cultural spaces in Hongdae, Nonsan, Chuncheon, Daechi, and Busan—hosting over 3,000 artistic and cultural programs every year.
