KT&G (CEO Bok-in Baek) started the 2nd KT&G Sangsang Startup Camp, a youth startup support program.

KT&G SangSang Startup Camp is a 14-week camp for 45 young people who passed 10:1 competition, looking to launch startups, providing them with consultation and education programs as part of the company’s youth support project for free, to be held at KT&G Sangsang Madang Hongdae from April to July.

KT&G provided a boot camp for the candidates at KT&G Sangsang Madang Chunchoen between April 2 and 6. The camp introduced organization development and psychology analysis solution helped by medical doctors focused on effective team building for the first time. The candidate may experience the whole program in advance through startup methodology education and the communication with coaches.

The camp starting from April 9 is be composed of customized coaching and professional mentoring by the industry professionals, and social innovation startup programs. Selected teams will be provided with financial support for initial startup, overseas benchmark trip and office rentals.

KT&G has supported youth employment project with 3billion won budget since last year. The Company SangSang Summit, an open forum for the sustainable development plan for startup ecosystem, which invited around 400 participants.

A related person of KT&G said, “I have witnessed that young professionals have become social innovated entrepreneurs through the 1st SangSang Startup Camp, which have proved itself with accumulate revenue of KRW 150 million. KT&G will support to help the creative ideas of the young entrepreneurs with contributing social problem solving and becoming innovative enterprises which will eventually relieve youth unemployment through the 2nd Camp.”
