KT&G expands ‘Sangsang Share On-Jeong’ activities to support the underprivileged during the holiday season. 2024.12.02
KT&G (CEO Kyung-man Bang) is conducting the '2024 KT&G Sangsang Share On-Jeong' activities nationwide to support the underprivileged in having a warm winter.

The 'KT&G Sangsang Share On-Jeong' is an annual corporate social responsibility program by KT&G aimed at spreading the culture of sharing during the year-end and holiday season. This year, the head office, sales offices, and manufacturing plants are actively participating in various sharing activities, including support for winter supplies and living expenses, and improving residential environments.

For instance, on the 29th, KT&G conducted a briquette distribution volunteer activity in Jeongneung-dong, Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, for energy-vulnerable populations. The event saw the participation of 50 members including Sang-hak Lee, Senior Vice President of KT&G, who personally delivered 6,000 briquettes. This year, through sharing activities at various institutions nationwide, KT&G plans to deliver a total of 50,000 briquettes to the underprivileged.

Additionally, KT&G Sangsang Madang Chuncheon and Busan, along with sales offices and manufacturing plants, have hosted kimchi sharing events for local communities in need, delivering approximately 50,000 kg of kimchi, thus leading community coexistence.

Young-ah Sim, Director of ESG Management at KT&G, stated, “KT&G is practicing our management philosophy of 'collaboration with the community' by extending a helping hand to neighbors struggling during the winter,” and added, “As a corporate citizen, we will continue to provide various supports to spread the culture of sharing.”

Furthermore, the 'KT&G Sangsang Share On-Jeong' activities are funded by the 'Sangsang Fund', which is composed of voluntary donations from KT&G employees. Launched in 2011, the 'Sangsang Fund' is a corporate social responsibility fund created in a matching grant format, where the company matches the amount donated by employees from their monthly salaries, used for supporting the underprivileged both domestically and internationally and addressing urgent social issues.
