KT&G (President Bang Kyung-man) will host the "2024 KT&G Sangsang Univ Harmony Night" on October 8th at the Baekryeong Art Center at Kangwon National University in Chuncheon City, Gangwon Province.

The Sangsang Univ Harmony Night is a free concert designed to promote local cultural and artistic performances. It brings together university students, soldiers living in the Gangwon region, and local musicians to create a harmonious musical experience.

This year’s concert will feature a sand art performance set against the backdrop of Chuncheon City, capturing the themes of 'youthful excitement,' 'adversity and overcoming,' and 'new beginnings,' allowing the audience to simultaneously enjoy both the visual art and music. Those interested can enter free of charge starting from 6:30 PM on the day of the event.

To prepare for this event, since July, KT&G has provided intensive training sessions conducted by professional musicians, totaling about 50 sessions, aimed at university students and soldiers, thus enhancing the performance quality.

Meanwhile, KT&G plans to allocate a specific amount per audience member who attends the performance, using funds from the "Sangsang Fund", which was established through voluntary contributions from its employees. This amount will be donated to support the culturally and artistically underserved communities in the Chuncheon region. The Sangsang Fund is a unique corporate social contribution fund operated by KT&G, featuring a 1:1 matching grant system where the company adds an amount equal to the monthly donations made by employees from their salaries.

KT&G’s Director of ESG Management, Shim Young-ah, commented, "This concert is significant as it allows us to fulfill our role as a company that engages with the community. We remain committed to continuously taking responsibility towards the local communities."

Since its inception in 2010, 'Sangsang Univ' has been a platform supporting the growth of university students, with over one million participants to date. Through various programs such as 'KT&G Sangsang Friends,' 'KT&G Sangsang Marketing School,' and 'KT&G Sangsang Blue Pavilion,' it has been instrumental in supporting cultural activities and growth among regional youth.
