KT&G(CEO: Mr. Min Young-jin) recruits participants for the ‘2014 Band Discovery’, a program to discover and support new musicians until July 4th.
 
‘Band Discovery’ is a program started by KT&G last year to support new musicians who have talents but lack opportunities for performance. The selected bands will be given various chances for their growth.
 
The requirement for participation is a music group which does not have any regular album or just released its debut album. Application is made by registration of movies or music file with band profile in the website(sangsang.ktng.com).
 
Among applicants, through screening primary music sources, six teams will be chosen and they will be given a chance to meet ‘Yellow Monsters’ and ‘Former a Man and a Women Riding Stell’ that play great roles in the band music scene and to get tips for music from them.

Then, the final competition will choose the most excellent three teams, with rewards of total 11 million won. In addition, a chance to perform in the Live Hall, the Sangsangmadang (one session), and other rewards for producing live music video and music source will be given, as well. In particular, the selected team will be able to perform in the ‘Sangsang Realization Festival’ in the upcoming November.
 
A person concerned in KT&G said that “Band Discovery attracted many music groups’ attention, with total 340 teams’ application to it last year. We hope this time will be a chance for new bands to communicate with the public and to grow more.”
