KT&G, eco-friendly campaign ‘Must (必) green’ project successfully completed 2022.01.24
On the 21st, KT&G(President Bok In Baek) successfully finished the 'Must (必) green' campaign, which was to practice eco-friendly activities in daily life with the participation of executives and employees, and held a ceremony to donate the sales income from Upcycling to the Environmental Education Center.

As the result of the third ‘Must (必) green’ activity, design was put on waste banners and 'newly used', and the finished products were sold and it was planned as a virtuous cycle campaign in which the sales income were donated to be used for environmental education and research projects.

For this, KT&G employees voluntarily collected waste banners stored at institutions across the country, and the company made a pouch through collaboration with the upcycling brand 'Q Cliff' and held an online bazaar to raise money. This is a case in which the ideas adopted in the in-house environmental protection contest led to actual donation activities, and the eco-friendly value consumption trend was added, drawing high interest and participation from employees.

‘Must (必) green’ is an activity that 'must' happened for the protection of the Earth's environment, and has the meaning of 'feel' to feel the change by participating directly. KT&G executives and employees have been actively practicing eco-friendly management by participating in three-stage projects, including Plogging and Upcycling, starting with the last year campaign of using tumblers.

As the first activity, to decrease the use of disposable cups in the office and encourage the use of reusable containers, the employee's awareness of eco-friendlness was raised through the 'I need courage' campaign. For the second activity, through the 'Plogging' activity of jogging and picking up trash, each participant was matched to one tree, contributing to the creation of a 'Carbon-Neutral coexistence forest' in Daegwallyeong, Gangwon-do.

KT&G official said “Through the Must (必) green campaign it was an opportunity to increase the intimacy and consensus among members about eco-friendliness and ESG management", and also stated, "We will continue to carry out various activities to spread the environmental management vision, ‘GREEN IMPACT’.”
