KT&G will contest the entry of the '2019 KT&G Sangsangmadang Design Challenge', which will support the creative activities of Korean designers by September 29th.
The Sangsang Madang Design Challenge is a new designer support program that KT&G has been operating since 2013 for the development of the domestic design industry. Through this, we have found potential designers and helped the commercialization and distribution of excellent designs, bringing different design trends to the public.
This year, we are conspiring to design various artists regardless of the field, instead of the existing recruiting method for professional designers.
The theme of the contest for the KT&G Sangsangmadang Design Challenge is 'LOVE' and you can enter a graphic design with a message about love.
You can post your entries on Instagram, then share your post link to Sangsang Madang Design Square (@ssmadangdesign). Entries must be pure creations, suitable for commercialization, and in compliance with copyright law.
The winning work will be announced on October 7 on the instagram of the Sangsangmadang Design Square. Winners will be given a chance to show their works to Sangsangmadang Hongdae visitors as well as the prize money. In November, the company plans to release five “Sangsang Madang Winter Surprise Editions”, which are commercialized designs of the winners. The products will be located at Sangsangmadang Hongdae Design Square, which will provide young designers with opportunities to distribute and sell products and share revenue.
An official of KT&G said, “We look forward to a work that will deliver a lot of sympathy and positive messages to the public.” He added "I hope that this competition will be an opportunity to discover creative new designers and support the sustainable growth of domestic designers."
