The ceremony was held on the 30th, in a complex cultural space 'Jam To Go' in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, with start-up support agencies, investment organization officials and about 400 participants from the general public who are interested in social innovation start-ups.
'Imagination Start-up Camp' is KT & G's Young Entrepreneurship Support Project, which selects a pre-founder who wants to solve social problems through business and provides 14-week full-scale start-up process. In October last year, KT&G selected 45 prospective social innovation entrepreneurs to support participants in launching their ideas into social innovation startups.
In this 'The Debut', participants presented their business models and achievements prepared during the 14-week session. In addition, they ran booths for each team to communicate with start-up support organizations, investment organization officials, and public participants, and introduce each team's business.
KT&G delivered a total of KRW 80 million to the five excellent teams. In the future, we plan to continue various supports including overseas benchmarking and office space.
KT&G is carrying out 3 billion KRW start-up support project to solve youth unemployment problem. Last year, in order to establish a mid- to long-term foundation for youth entrepreneurship support, we secured a dedicated space in the 'Seongsu Social Venture Valley' to open a young entrepreneurial platform by 2020. The dedicated space will be used as a space for activating entrepreneurial ecosystem and strengthening community among members.
