311 KT&G selected 'the 11th KT & G SKOPF Finalist of The Year’ 2018.12.26

KT & G (CEO, Baek Bok In) conducted the public portfolio review of 'the 11th KT & G SKOPF (KT&G Sangsangmadang Korean Photographer's Fellowship)' and selected one finalist of the year.


'KT & G SKOPF' is a representative artist support program of KT & G that discovers and supports young photographers with new possibilities. KT & G (CEO, Baek Bok In) conducted the public portfolio review of 'the 11th KT & G SKOPF (KT&G Sangsangmadang Korean Photographer's Fellowship)' and selected one finalist of the year.


KT & G SKOPF, which started in 2008 and celebrated its 11th anniversary this year, has unearthed 39 photographers for 10 years and has supported 13 solo exhibitions selected as finalists and published works. KT & G (CEO, Baek Bok In) conducted the public portfolio review of 'the 11th KT & G SKOPF (KT&G Sangsangmadang Korean Photographer's Fellowship)' and selected one finalist of the year.


The 11th KT & G SKOPF selected Kim Seung-gu , Jung Ho Cho , Goseong as the three artists of this year in May and has been supporting 10 million won worth of activities per person and 6 months of intensive mentoring. On December 8th, it held the public portfolio contest of three artists of the year and selected Kim Seung-gu of , as the finalist of the 11th KT & G SKOPF. KT & G (CEO, Baek Bok In) conducted the public portfolio review of 'the 11th KT & G SKOPF (KT&G Sangsangmadang Korean Photographer's Fellowship)' and selected one finalist of the year.


The judges commemorated that Kim Seung-gu's work "Bamseom" has effectively presented "Bamseom” which is a forgotten island in Yeoeuido in terms of city and nature, interest and exclusion. KT & G (CEO, Baek Bok In) conducted the public portfolio review of 'the 11th KT & G SKOPF (KT&G Sangsangmadang Korean Photographer's Fellowship)' and selected one finalist of the year.


"KT&G will host a solo exhibition of Kim Seung-gu at KT & G Sangsang Madang Gallery in 2019 and plans to continue to provide mentoring and additional support worth KRW 40 million for publishing. Ji Hyo Seok, KT&G Cultural Affairs Director said "The purpose of the KT & G artist support program is to create a 'ground,' where talented artists can demonstrate their abilities.” He added “we will do our best to help talented artists expand their artistic abilities with various support programs."
