325 KT&G – Seongdong-gu to Sign ‘Youth Startup Support’ MOU 2018.09.03

KT&G (CEO Bok-in Baek) has started youth job creation and social innovation startup support project together with Seongdong-gu, Seoul.


KT&G and Seongdong-gu signed a memorandum of understanding for Youth Startup Support with the attendees including Heungryoeul Kim, the executive vice president of KT&G and Wono Chong, the mayor of Seongdong-gu. 


According to the MoU, KT&G will build a platform for youth startup near Seongsu subway station and Seongdong-gu office will provide administrative support. In addition, both agreed to cooperate to exchange the infrastructure, human and material resource for youth startup support and to boost social innovation and youth job creation as well.


KT&G aims to build the youth startup platform in Seongsu Social Venture Valley with a lot of social ventures by the first half of 2020, which will be usued for startup ecology and community.


KT&G has supported its 30 billion Korean won social innovation startup support projects since last October. The Company has helped young entrepreneurs by operating SangSang Startup Camp twice to foster Social Venture which solved social issued in a business perspective.


Jinhan Kim, head of KT&G CRS, said, “The MoU with Seongdon-gu will gather momentum for KT&G’s youth startup support. KT&G will actively support to relieve the youth unemployment through creative and practical startup support programs.”
