KT&G (CEO Bok-in Baek) held a ceremony for the completion of the community center of Asri village in Cikarang, Indonesia on August 8th together with university student volunteer team.

The 65-member volunteer team comprising 54 Indonesian and Korean university student and 11 KT&G employees assisted in building and offered education support activity for ten days from July 30. Sari, economically challenged village, is short of community facilities. The volunteer team built a community service center with a library and meeting room and sports facilities including a badminton court and basketball court.

A signboard hanging ceremony was held. In addition, the university students of Indonesia and Korea presented Indonesian traditional dance and K-pop dance to offer various cultural exchange experiences.

Abdul Rochim, Director of the Ministry of Industry of Indonesia said, “Thank you for the volunteers who gave practical help. I hope the community center will bring people together and provide a playground for growth.”
