KT&G (CEO Bok-in Baek) begins to sell tickets of ‘The Fiction’, the first musical selected through its original play support program. You can buy the tickets in advance on Interpark and Yes24 website from January 30 and the musical will be played from March 9 at Daechi Art Hall in KT&G Sangsang Madang.

In commemoration of the 10th anniversary of Sangsang Madang opening, KT&G started Sangsang Stage Challenge to expand its support area to original play in addition to movie, performance, design, visual art and education.

The competition for original musical and play started last August and the competition ratio was one out of forty-six. The Fiction, the original musical, was selected.

The selected one received the practical support including 10 million won for production cost, theatre, sounding and lighting equipment and so son. KT&G will keep selecting and supporting original musicals and plays.

The Fiction is a musical, based on the story a murderer of a novel turned up, delivering a message on a lie and truth, good and evil, and fiction and non-fiction. White, a reporter, Gray, a novelist, and Hugh, a detective living in 1932 New York are main characters. Talented musical actors including Taejon Kim, Chang Kang, and Minjkin Joo are drawing attention as well.

A related person of KT&G said, “It is difficult that original musical and play may reach the break-even point and re-run is also not easy because of the cost including venue rental fee. KT&G Sangsang Madang will keep providing a differentiated original play support program to contribute to more active play culture.”
