▶KT&G SangsangMadang 10th anniversary festival ‘Sangsang For10’ poster
KT&G (CEO Bok-in Baek) will hold ‘Sangsang For10’ culture festival at SangsangMadang Hongdae in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of SangsangMadang between September 8th and 9th.
The festival ‘Sangsang For10’ means the 10th anniversary of SangsangMadang and its growth potential as well. Programs will include 10th anniversary performance, film festival, exhibition and lectures.
10th anniversary concert will be held at outdoor stage in front of SangsangMadang together with famous indie bands including Kiha & Faces, Monni, and Jannabi. Novelist Youngha Kim and Soontak Bae, radio script writer will give a lecture on culture, art and humanities to communicate with the audience.
‘Homecoming Day – 10th a lot’ event inviting artists who have worked with SangsangMadang will be also held indoors. Sangho Yeon, the film director of movie ‘Train to Busan’ and Jinmo Im, a music critic will attend. Sangsang Cinema will show the winners of ‘Great Short Film Festival’ which celebrates its 11th anniversary. Brand pop-up event related to SangsangMadang and 10th anniversary special lecture will be held as well.
Hyoseok Ju, director of cultural contribution division said, “In commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the opening of SangsangMadang, KT&G provides the place for a festival to bridge artists and the public. KT&G will keep supporting non-mainstream culture & art by providing the place for culture complex.”
Starting with opening SangsangMadang Hongdae in 2007, KT&G opened SangsangMadang Nonsan and Chuncheon. In 2019, SangsangMadang Busan will be completed. The number of annual visitors to SangsangMadang amounts to 1.8milion and approximately 3,000 culture and art programs are being provided. KT&G received ‘Mecenat Grand Prize’ from Korea Mecenat Association in 2015 and ‘Excellent Culture & Art support Company’ certification from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
