KT&G unveiled plans to develop a commercial and residential complex in Sejong City, where many of the central government’s offices are located.
The complex in the neighborhood of Eojin-dong, Sejoing City, will include two retail buildings, three office buildings and one studio apartment building which residents can also use as offices. The facilities will open one by one as they are completed between late 2018 and 2019.
The complex to be built on two blocks will be comprised of urban complex center (USC), a shopping mall targeting business people and neighborhood center(NSC) for upscale residential units, and retails building will be made of government related organizations, financial institution branches, fashion brands, and upscale restaurants.
KT&G decided to lease out the complex and assigned AK Plaza as an operator in February.
AK Plaza, which runs five department stores nationwide, a shopping mall in Incheon International Airport, and online shopping mall is a renowned retailer and will operate the shopping complex, together with KT&G, to make it a landmark in Sejong City.
“We saw the location as fit for the project because consumer demand there is high, sitting near government offices, large-scale accommodations and bus rapid transit. We are receiving request for lease because of the cooperation of KT&G with financial stability and retailer AK Plaza.” the company said in a statement.
