On March 22 at COEX, Samsung-dong in Seoul, KT&G (president Bok-in Baek) received the highest award, “HRD Grand Prize” at 2017 Korea HRD (Human Resource Development) Award Ceremony for two years in a row. The company also won ‘Grand Prize for Education Facility’ in 2015.

The “Korea HRD Award Ceremony”, hosted by Korea HRD Association, is the most renowned prize in the sector. It is awarded to companies, educational institutions, and HRD instructors that has contributed to the development and expansion of HRD.

KOREA HRD Association release the reason for awarding as follows; KT&G was evaluated as a company which continuously invested in human resource development based on HRD focused management and provided systematic education and training for business performance.

In Daejeon, Gyeongju, Suanbo, and Gangwha, KT&G is operating four education centers that can host more than 26 thousand people a year. Each center has up-to-date training infrastructure asides from education facilities, so that the employees could learn independently in the optimal environment.

Seob-jong Joo, head of KT&G Human Development Center, has commented, “KT&G has focused on human resources by offering customized field-centered educational programs. We will keep trying to support human capital development and training infrastructure building for our employees’ strengthening of ability.”
