Winners will Perform at Sangsang Madang and Sangsang Realization Festival

Until March 30, KT&G (CEO Bok-in Baek) is inviting musicians to participate in “2017 Band Discovery” which discovers and supports rookie musicians.

Band Discovery, in its fifth year, has discovered and supported unknown talents sponsored by KT&G for culture and art development purpose since 2013.

Anyone who has put out their EP (extended playing) may apply regardless of music genre classification. Applications will be completed on the website ( http://discovery . sangsangmadang.com).

Shortlisted bands will be selected through the first screening process by professional musicians. The final two bands will be selected through a final competition concert. Seleted teams will be awarded 6 million won and provided the opportunity to perform at “2017 Sangsang Realization Festival” to be held in upcoming fall. In addition, live performance photos and videos for band promotion will be provided.

A KT&G official said, “Band Discovery has drawn attention and participation from new music bands by providing opportunities for them to communicate with the public. I hope many talented rookies may participate in the contest.”

The program helped a multiple number of bands including ‘Sson Apple’, ‘Pavlov’, ‘Ahn Dayoung’, and ‘The VANE’ to perform at domestic and foreign concerts.
