▶KT&G Scholarship Foundation held its first ‘University Sangsang Scholarship Camp’ at KT&G Sangsang Madang Chuncheon between February 23-24. Students are experiencing pottery making.

KT&G Scholarship Foundation held its first ‘University Sangsang Scholarship Camp’ for 80 college students at KT&G Sangsang Madang Chuncheon between February 23 - 24.

KT&G Scholarship Foundation selected final 80 excellent students after strict screening process for high school Sangsang scholarship students, selected after year 2014, who are entering into a university. These University Sangsang scholarship provides students with up to 8 million won each year until their graduation.

The event included a variety of cultural experience as well as scholarship certificate award ceremony. Memorable experience like hip-hop concert, pottery making, and profile photo shooting were prepared. Students receiving scholarships had a valuable time over meaningful conversation with each other despite the underprivileged surroundings they had.

Sangsang Scholarship program by KT&G Scholarship Foundation delivers hope to many places. Park, a North Korean defector, with economic challenges for even subscribing internet lectures, is receiving 3 million won high school scholarship annually. She could focus on her studies and admitted to Seoul National University to receive Sangsang University Scholarship also. Ahn whose father was a police officer died on duty managed to live by minimum pension also could focus on his studies with the help from high school Sangsang scholarship. He entered into Yonsei university and his tuition and boarding expenses are being paid with Sangsang University Scholarship

KT&G Scholarship Foundation was established in 2008 in order to decrease the difference in scholastic achievements and provide stable education opportunity for educational alienation class. The foundation provides differentiated scholarship projects to outstanding individuals for society and continues supporting ‘Total-Care’ for Sangsang Scholarship students from middle school to university.
