▶ KT&G Sangsang Madang Chuncheon employees deliver lunch boxes on weekends for the elderly in Chuncheon. From ticket sales revenue, KT&G Sangsang Madang Chuncheon will provide lunch boxes on weekend for the people in need living in Chuncheon.

KT&G will provide free lunch boxes on weekends for the people in need in Chuncheon City for the following year from the Sangsang Madang Chuncheon Festival revenue.

Sangsang Madang Chuncheon  has been recognized as ‘complex culture & art space linked to nature culture’ since its opening in 2014. More than four thousand visitors enjoyed 2016 Sangsang Realization Festival in October 2016. KT&G decided to donate the ticket sales revenue to provide lunch boxes on weekends for Chuncheon people in need.

Ticket sales revenue amounted to 39 million and 140 thousand won. Sangsang Fund, KT&G donation program, increased the amount to make 88 million and 280 thousand won. Sangsang Fund is a unique social contribution fund made from KT&G staff’s voluntary donation plus the same amount of the donation from the company.

For a year, KT&G will provide rice, briquettes and lunch boxes on weekends for 140 people in need living in Chuncheon City, together with Hyoja Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, Chuncheon, Kangwon Province. The decision was made based on the advice from the welfare center that there is no specific support for weekend meals while there is a multiple sources of meal support program for weekdays.

KT&G will actively participate in menu selection and food hygiene management for satisfactory lunch box deliv
ery. Nourishing food including ox knee soup, loach soup, or ginseng chicken soup is in menu, and lunch boxes will be delivered by Sangsang Madang Chuncheon employees.

Hyoseok Ji, director of KT&G Culture Contribution department said, “I am so happy that I can return the revenue of successful Sangsang Realization Festival in Chuncheon to Chuncheon citizen. We will try continually, not a one-time photo session, to return the revenue from festival and exhibition to local community.”
