KT&G (CEO: Bok-in Baek) will conduct “2016 KT&G Sangsang Fund Love-Sharing” service activities until the end of December and deliver winter supplies worth a total of KRW 962 million to the unprivileged households in Korea.

KT&G employees and local community will relay winter supplies including insulation tents and briquettes to low-income households in 25 places nation-wide. KT&G has provided winter supplies for the unprivileged for 13 years since 2004.

The insulation tent, in particular, installed indoors, are eco-friendly item because the tent keeps temperature about five degrees Celsius higher helped by human body temperature with reduced fossil fuel consumption and green-house gases.
KT&G will double the number of tents, to be provided for 3 consecutive years, up to 2,000 from last year based on the high level of beneficiary’s satisfaction.
All required costs of winter supplies are covered by the Sangsang Fund raised by voluntary donations of KT&G employees and matching-fund scheme donation by KT&G.

Bok-in Baek, CEO of KT&G, participated in winter goods delivery including briquettes and insulation tents together with ‘Sangsang Realization Committee’, a standing committed for corporate culture renovation of KT&G, members to make the donation more meaningful, at Dalteo Village, Gaepo-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul on December 7.

Jinhan Kim, head of CSR division, said, “I understand many people are suffering from the first price increase of briquettes in 7 years. We hope these winter goods will help the needy neighbors around us get through this winter more warmly and comfortably.”
