KT&G Welfare Foundation holds ‘2016 Kimchi Sharing of Love’ events until November 24.

‘Kimchi Sharing of Love’ has been a representative yearly event of KT&G Welfare Foundation over the last thirteen years. 5,600 KT&G employees and volunteers participate in relay events to be held in twenty one Seoul metropolitan area in order to make about 200,000 heads of kimchi for the winter, which is equivalent of KRW 650 million.

10kg of Kimchi box, made from quality domestic agricultural products, will be delivered to 30,000 low-income households. Heat wave in summer caused the cost for kimchi making to surge due to the bad crops of vegetables including napa cabbage, radish and garlic. Many organizations decided to skip or decrease the size of kimchi sharing events and KT&G Welfare Foundation’s events become more meaningful year winter.

KT&G Welfare Foundation official said, “The neighbor in need is our neighbor indeed. Underprivileged people need attention and support. I hope the kimchi made by warm-hearted people participated in the events will be useful for low-income households to get through winter.”
