▶November 21, encouragement letter and ‘Cheong Kwan Jang i-pass’ red ginseng gift set were delivered to 235 college entrance examinees, children of employees.
KT&G (CEO Bok-in Baek), a company promoting work-life balanced working environment via family-friendly management, cheers for the children of executives and staff members taking the College Scholastic Ability Test on November 17.
CEO Bok-in Baek delivered a encouragement letter hoping the students will do their justice in the exam and ‘Cheong Kwan Jang i-pass’ red ginseng gift set for physical strength recovery to 235 examinees.
Mr. Baek wrote in the letter “Last year, I also witnessed that my son struggled himself to prepare for the college entrance exam. I cheer for the beautiful dreams of examinees at the start point of marathon, a life ahead of you.”
A KT&G employee said, “I was sorry for not taking enough care of my daughter preparing for the college entrance exam and thank my company for paying careful attention like a family.” In March, KT&G delivered greeting cards prepared by CEO and school supply sets to 174 children of employees entering elementary school.
KT&G extended its ‘refresh leave’ to three weeks from previous two-week leave, which is given to employees every fifth year anniversary since 2011. The Company took an initiating role in introducing ‘automatic childcare leave system’ which allows employees to enjoy parental leave after mandatory maternity leave since 2015. The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family provided ‘family-friendly workplace’ certification for KT&G with a high level of family-friendly work environment in December 2015. KT&G obtained the certification based on the satisfaction of employees by introducing a variety of programs including recreation facility.
The company promotes family-friendly programs including ‘When one’s home is happy, all goes well!’ program which invites family members of employees for company field trip, and ‘KT&G Parents’ Day’ program where employees’ family enjoy art performance and take family photograph.
